Job summary

Devon Partnership NHS Trust invites applications for a Nursery Nurse join the Mother and Baby Unit. You will work within the Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide 24/7 holistic care for women with acute perinatal mental illness and their babies, focusing on infant care, safeguarding and parent/infant attachment.

Experience with babies 0-12 months, advocacy for infant wellbeing and ability to educate staff and mothers on development, feeding, sleep and safe practices is essential; you will model

Qualifications

• Experience caring for infants 0-12 months and knowledge of baby development.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and ability to make referrals.
• Ability to educate and support mothers on infant care and bonding.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of caring for infants under 1 year to educate colleagues on the MBU.
• Ensure practice aligns with safeguarding policies and engage safeguarding services as needed.
• Observe, assess, plan, implement and evaluate infant care on the MBU.
• Support parent/infant bonding through engagement activities and play.
• Assist with workload management and provide clinical support for mothers.
