Job summary

Pertemps in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join the busy Industrial Division. You will service and develop a broad range of industrial/engineering clients, driving sales and building long‑term relationships with workers and customers.

The role offers a competitive salary DOE with an uncapped commission scheme and an OTE of up to £35k in the first year, plus a range of benefits including a company car after qualifying period and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales environment or recruitment business.
• Ability to learn IT systems and recruitment compliance processes.
• Confident speaking to new people on the phone.
• Experience recruiting for high-volume candidate onboarding.
• Strong judgement and perseverance in sales.
• Ability to win new business and build client relationships.
• Experience upselling to clients preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple workloads without compromising service quality.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Basic IT skills with Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

You will work with a broad range of industrial/engineering clients, which you would be responsible for servicing and developing, alongside broader sales responsibilities. As a Recruiter joining our team you will:

The ideal Recruiter will hold the following skills and experiences:

• Experience within a sales environment or recruitment business is required
• Ability to absorb knowledge and learn a range of new IT systems and recruitment compliance processes
• Confident speaking to new people on the phone
• Acting as a recruiter for high-volume candidate onboarding drives
• A good judge of character
• A tenacious attitude towards sales
• Ideally some experience in upselling to clients and working 'off-script'
• Characteristics of somebody capable of winning new business and building relationships
• Ability to manage multiple workloads without detracting from quality of service
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• IT Literate with basic use of Excel, Word, Outlook (training will be provided to further develop these skills)
• Comfortable building rapport and creating new accounts with clients face-to-face
