Job summary

Pertemps Birmingham Commercial is seeking an Industrial Recruitment Consultant to manage and develop relationships with industrial and engineering clients in Birmingham. You will combine sales duties with high levels of customer service, servicing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.

You will interview and select industrial staff, handle B2B on-site and telesales, and contribute to tender processes.

Qualifications

• Experience within a sales environment or recruitment business is required.
• Confident speaking to new people on the phone.
• Ability to absorb knowledge and learn IT systems and recruitment compliance processes.

This permanent, full-time Industrial Recruitment Consultant position sits within Pertemps Birmingham Commercial’s established Industrial Division. Based in Birmingham, the successful candidate will manage and develop relationships with industrial and engineering clients, combining sales duties with high standards of customer service. Day-to-day work includes servicing existing accounts, identifying new business prospects, and matching candidates to client requirements. Strong communication, negotiation and organisational abilities are essential, alongside a proven background in recruitment or a comparable sales setting.

The role offers a £27,000 annual salary plus uncapped commission, with realistic first-year earnings of up to £35,000 and an annual review of the commission structure.

The ideal Recruiter will hold the following skills and experiences:

• Experience within a sales environment or recruitment business is required
• Ability to absorb knowledge and learn a range of new IT systems and recruitment compliance processes
• Confident speaking to new people on the phone
• Acting as a recruiter for high-volume candidate onboarding drives
• A good judge of character
• A tenacious attitude towards sales
• Ideally some experience in upselling to clients and working 'off-script'
• Characteristics of somebody capable of winning new business and building relationships Ability to manage multiple workloads without detracting from quality of service Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• IT Literate with basic use of Excel, Word, Outlook (training will be provided to further develop these skills)
• Comfortable building rapport and creating new accounts with clients face-to-face
