Job summary

Caterpillar offers a 12 Month Industrial Placement Scheme in the Manufacturing Engineering discipline at Skinningrove, UK. You will join a global leader in heavy equipment, working on real projects and learning Lean Manufacturing and digital / automation strategies. Placement begins July 2027 with mentorship and potential paths to graduate roles.

Applicants should be in the penultimate year (or integrated masters) and aim for a minimum 2:2 honours in a relevant field. Onsite five days a week.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of study or enrolled in an integrated master's program.
• Minimum 2:2 honours degree in a relevant discipline.
• Interest in Lean Manufacturing and digital/automation.

Responsibilities

• Based in the Engineering team, work on real improvement projects.
• Lead production employees to execute the production of track shoes through our heat treatment and paint facility.
• Collaborate with the Project Engineer to gain Lean Manufacturing experience and support efficiency initiatives.
• Support automation/robotics projects, digitalisation, cloud-based systems, and a move toward a paperless facility.
• Interact with other departments internal and external to the business.

2:2 honours degree in Manufacturing Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics / Systems Engineering / Control Systems / Integrated Engineering
