Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a specialist metal processing site in the Scottish Highlands. The role centers on maintaining electrical systems across a large smelter, with exposure to transformers, switchgear and industrial power networks, offering a generous salary and relocation package.

One of Britain’s longest standing smelters, this site uses renewable hydroelectric power to produce low-carbon aluminium.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Experience working in industrial environments.
• Relocation willingness to Scottish Highlands preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance for electrical systems across the smelter.
• Support electrical reliability and asset improvement initiatives.
• Work with transformers, switchgear, protection relays, motors, VSDs, substations and power systems.
• Assist with plant breakdowns and shutdowns.
