Job summary

Andrews Recruitment Group is seeking an Industrial Electrical & Controls Engineer to work on site-based and field-based projects across the UK. You will diagnose faults, install and commission PLC-controlled systems, and improve automation in heavy industrial plants.

The role requires hands-on electrical experience with motors, VSDs, MCCs, and PLC fault-finding; travel to customer sites and a valid UK driving licence are required. A competitive salary and clear career progression are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with three-phase motors, VSDs, MCCs and industrial electrical systems.
• Practical fault-finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
• Understanding of industrial automation and instrumentation.
• Ability to diagnose faults and work independently on industrial sites.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and control-system faults across industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Work with PLC-controlled systems and identify faults within automated processes.
• Support installation, modification and commissioning of electrical and control systems.
• Fault-find on MCCs, electrical panels, three-phase motors and VSDs.
• Investigate sensors, instrumentation, safety circuits and control equipment.
• Assist with PLC, HMI and SCADA troubleshooting and improvements.
• Support machinery upgrades and automation improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and site teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and control documentation.
