Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a motivated Sales Engineer / Business Development Executive for a UK-based manufacturer of industrial motor control technology. You will drive sales by identifying opportunities with OEMs, machine builders, and industrial end-users, while managing existing accounts and partners.

Responsibilities include providing technical guidance on AC/DC drive solutions, preparing quotations, and collaborating with engineering teams to tailor customer offerings.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical sales, internal sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing roles.
• Ideally electrical or engineering knowledge related to industrial automation, motor control, drives, power electronics, or control systems.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to winning business.
• Ability to understand technical applications and convert opportunities into sales.
• Willingness to learn and develop in the role.
• Highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls and developing new customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new business opportunities through outbound sales activity.
• Identify opportunities within OEMs, machine builders, industrial manufacturers, and systems integrators.
• Target replacement and upgrade opportunities within existing DC drive installations.
• Support growth of AC drives offerings, including new product introductions and energy recovery solutions.
