Grant Thornton UK LLP is seeking an Associate Director in Indirect Tax to lead client work, oversee a portfolio of VAT matters, and guide junior staff within a supportive, inclusive culture. The role emphasizes high-quality technical advice, client relationship development, and risk-aware project delivery.

You will be part of a collaborative Indirect Tax team, leveraging broad VAT experience, with flexible/hybrid working arrangements and strong career growth opportunities across a global firm.

Qualifications

• Experience of VAT / Indirect Taxes in advisory or in-house environments.
• CTA/ATT or similar tax qualification is desirable.
• Experience managing a large and varied indirect/VAT client portfolio.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships.
• Ability to lead projects in a mixed-discipline team.
• Experience advising on complex indirect tax matters across VAT areas.

Responsabilités

• Scope, deliver and bill client work with high quality technical advice.
• Guide junior staff in researching and producing work for quality delivery.
• Provide accurate indirect tax advice with legislative and case knowledge.
• Explain complex issues to stakeholders with varying tax knowledge.
• Produce technical work with minimal review and clear client points.
• Review the work of other team members.
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s risk management processes.
• Manage billing, gross margin, utilisation and WIP.
