Job summary

Geely Auto UK in Coventry is seeking a hands-on Procurement professional to manage the full indirect procurement lifecycle—from sourcing and negotiation to supplier management, purchasing and reporting.

You will develop category strategies, lead supplier negotiations, ensure governance and compliance, and provide data-driven insights to optimise costs while supporting internal stakeholders in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in indirect procurement.
• Experience in automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier desirable.
• Knowledge of ESG, sustainability and supplier compliance.

• Indirect Procurement & Sourcing: manage sourcing across indirect categories and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Supplier Management & Negotiation: lead supplier selection and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Governance & Compliance: ensure procurement activities comply with policies and UK regulations.
• Operational Procurement: oversee requisitions, purchase orders and invoice queries for internal stakeholders.
• Data & Reporting: maintain supplier and procurement data and produce reports for cost optimisation.

Job Purpose

This is a hands-on role covering the full indirect procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and negotiation through to supplier management, purchasing and reporting.

Main Responsibilities

• Indirect Procurement & Sourcing: Manage sourcing across indirect categories, benchmark suppliers, develop category strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Supplier Management & Negotiation: Lead supplier selection, manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, payment terms, SLAs and contracts.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with global policies, UK regulations and internal approval processes, maintaining appropriate documentation and audit trails.
• Operational Procurement: Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders and invoice queries, providing commercial guidance and supporting internal stakeholders with day-to-day procurement needs.
• Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate supplier and procurement data, analyse spending and supplier performance, and produce reports to support cost optimisation and decision-making.

Education, Skills And Personal Characteristics Required

• 3–5 years' experience in indirect procurement, ideally within a multinational or fast-paced organisation.
• Experience within an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier is desirable.
• CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS is preferred.
• Knowledge of ESG, sustainability and supplier compliance.
• Understanding of automotive supply chains.
• Experience using SAP, Oracle or similar ERP/procurement systems.
• Previous experience working within a global procurement function.
