Job summary

EDF UK is seeking an INA Assessment Nuclear Safety Engineer to join the Assessment Branch. The role focuses on providing independent Nuclear Safety assessment, regulatory guidance, and support for Safety Case changes.

The position offers flexible working location with a base at Gloucester Business Park and opportunities across related projects in the nuclear portfolio including Sizewell, with mentoring to achieve qualification in the Nuclear Safety Engineer role.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in an Engineering or Science based discipline.
• Demonstrable experience in Nuclear Safety related areas such as Structural Integrity or Nuclear Graphite.
• Experience with safety case arrangements and regulatory processes is desirable.
• Ability to challenge and influence through effective questions and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent assurance that plant modifications are properly conceived, justified and implemented.
• Contribute to INA assurance that Plant is operated and maintained per the Safety Case.
• Represent INA at technical meetings internally and with the ONR.
• Conduct surveillance activities and report on internal regulation activities.
• Develop oversight arrangements for specific projects.
