Job summary

EDF Energy is recruiting a Nuclear Safety Engineer for the INA Assessment Branch in the Gloucester area, with a flexible working location. You will provide independent safety assessment and guidance across the Safety Case, contribute to INA assurance, and interact with the ONR and internal teams.

The role requires a degree in engineering or science and demonstrable nuclear safety experience, with mentoring and training provided to achieve INA qualification.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in an Engineering or Science based discipline.
• Experience in Nuclear Safety areas of Structural Integrity or Nuclear Graphite.
• Experience with safety case arrangements for higher category safety cases (author, verifier or case officer) desirable.
• Appreciation of regulatory processes and practices, knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant theory, systems components and operation.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent assurance that plant modifications are conceived, justified and implemented.
• Contribute towards INA assurance that Plant is operated and maintained in accordance with the Safety Case.
• Represent INA at technical meetings internally and with the ONR.
• Conduct and reporting of surveillance and other activities in accordance with the Model of Internal Regulation.
• Contribute to reporting of internal regulation activities to all levels in the Organisation.
• Develop oversight arrangements for specific projects.
