Job summary

EDF UK is seeking a motivated engineer or scientist to join our team at Sizewell B Power Station to monitor reactor performance and ensure safe operation. The role includes developing safety cases and supporting regulatory interfaces.

You'll apply engineering and physics principles, work autonomously, and contribute to a ten-year plan to extend the site's life. Training and support are provided, with flexible working options and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in engineering/science; degree advantageous.
• Strong understanding of engineering or physics principles.
• Self-motivated, resilient and able to work autonomously to drive nuclear safety.

Responsibilities

• Build effective networks to influence achievement of station business plan.
• Perform routine monitoring of the reactor core.
• Provide reactor physics and safety case advice to operators and other departments.
• Maintain and develop knowledge within core discipline and cross-skill.
• Develop and access changes to the station safety case.
• Support outage preparation and delivery.
• Advise on nuclear safety aspects of plant modifications and major projects.
