Compass Independent Living is seeking a part-time support worker to assist a young man with Down Syndrome, Autism, and partial hearing loss. The role is 6–12 hours per week at his family home and in the community. You will create a solid routine, promote independence, and help with meals and activities.

Responsibilities include personal care support, developing life skills, and accompanying him to outings. A caring, patient approach is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting someone with Down Syndrome and Autism is preferred.
• Willingness to provide personal care where needed.
• Commitment to regular, predictable hours (6–12 per week).

Responsabilités

• Provide a solid daily routine at home and in the community.
• Support with healthy snacks and choices.
• Assist with personal care (toileting) and dressing (shoes on/off).
• Promote independence and life skills (cooking, budgeting, shopping).
• Support activities at home and in the community (sports, park, outings).
• Help choose appropriate TV/music and understand real vs. pretend.
