Job summary

Sheffield City Council HQ is seeking three caretakers for the Older Persons Independent Living Service. The roles involve cleaning, security checks, and maintaining safe, well‑presented spaces across sheltered housing schemes in Sheffield.

You will report repairs and support vulnerable residents with a practical, hands-on approach. The posts require reliability, physical fitness and the ability to work independently with good organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering cleaning, safety and space maintenance in housing schemes.
• Ability to perform checks, cleaning and report repairs.
• Reliable, physically capable, and capable of working independently.
• Good organisational skills and attention to Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean building and outside areas.
• Carry out security checks and safeguarding duties.
• Monitor and report health & safety issues.
• Report repairs and maintenance needs.
• Work flexibly within Sheltered Housing schemes across the City of Sheffield.
