Job summary

Consortium is recruiting an Independent Living Advisor to cover the Havant & Emsworth region on a permanent contract. The role focuses on helping older people maintain independence, wellbeing and quality of life through housing management services. You will work 35 hours over 5 days with some flexibility in hours.

You will travel across schemes, complete scheme inspections, and support tenants through viewings, moving-in and understanding tenancy agreements. Driving is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support older people to maintain independence and wellbeing across housing management services.
• Travel across Havant & Emsworth schemes; conduct scheme inspections; monitor health and safety.
• Assist tenants with viewings and moving-in; explain tenancy agreements.
• Provide advice on accessing benefits and signpost services.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure high service standards.

We are currently recruiting for an Independent Living Advisor to join our team on a permanent contract, covering the Havant & Emsworth region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

You will be working 35 per week, over 5 days, Monday - Friday. There is some flexibility around the working hours, this will be discussed during the interview.

Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality housing management services across our sheltered schemes. You will build strong relationships with residents, support prospective tenants through viewings and the moving-in process, and ensure residents fully understand their tenancy agreements, including their rights and responsibilities.

You will also provide advice and guidance on accessing financial support, including housing-related benefits, and signpost or refer residents to appropriate services such as assistive technology, property adaptations, or additional support where needed. As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will carry out scheme inspections, ensure health and safety standards are met, and monitor contractor performance to maintain high service delivery standards.

As this is a floating role, flexibility to travel across schemes in the Havant & Emsworth region is essential. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required. Mileage expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile for business travel.
