THE ROLE

As an Independent Living Partner, you will be the first point of contact for residents, providing an effective housing management service while promoting independence, wellbeing and community engagement. • Providing intensive housing management support to older residents in rented and leasehold properties, including customer inductions, property viewings, allocations and void management.
  • Managing tenancy-related matters, offering advice on housing rights and responsibilities, addressing low-level anti-social behaviour and supporting tenancy sustainment.
  • Monitoring residents' welfare, undertaking regular wellbeing checks and identifying support needs, with appropriate referrals to internal teams and external agencies.
  • Managing social alarm systems, responding to emergency calls and ensuring equipment is regularly tested and maintained.
  • Completing regular health and safety inspections, risk assessments and compliance checks, ensuring repairs, fire safety issues and communal maintenance are followed through to completion.
  • Encouraging resident involvement and organising social activities to promote community engagement, independence, wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, local authorities, Adult Social Care and voluntary organisations to ensure residents receive the support and services they need.
THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar housing management, independent living or supported housing role, with a strong understanding of the needs of older and vulnerable people. • Practical knowledge of housing management, including tenancy legislation, allocations, voids management, anti-social behaviour, repairs and maintenance.
  • An understanding of relevant housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and empathetically with older and vulnerable residents.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy environment. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, are also required.
