Job summary

Capio Recruitment clients are seeking an Independent Financial Adviser to join their Colchester advisory team. You will inherit an existing client bank and work with paraplanning, administration and compliance support to deliver top-notch financial planning and client service.

You will also be encouraged to grow new business via introducers, networking, and digital channels, supported by advanced planning tools and reporting. A collaborative, client-first culture is central.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent.
• Experience providing independent financial advice.
• Strong pensions, investments and protection knowledge.

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Independent Financial Adviser to join a growing advisory team in Colchester.

You’ll inherit an established client bank from day one, supported by experienced paraplanning, administration and compliance teams, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional advice and developing deeper client relationships

Alongside existing clients, you’ll be encouraged to generate new business through professional introducers, networking events, digital channels and your own commercial initiatives. The business also invests heavily in technology, providing modern financial planning tools including cashflow modelling, AI-supported administration and business intelligence reporting

Key Responsibilities

• Provide holistic independent financial planning advice across pensions, investments and protection whilst delivering outstanding client outcomes.
• Develop and strengthen existing client relationships to identify ongoing planning opportunities
• Build new professional relationships through networking, referrals and digital engagement
• Work closely with dedicated paraplanning and compliance teams to deliver an efficient client journey
• Maintain FCA compliance standards and complete ongoing CPD.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the advisory team and wider business

Requirements

• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent).
• Experience providing independent financial advice
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection and wealth management
• Commercial mindset with the ability to generate new business alongside servicing existing clients
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable using financial planning technology and CRM systems
• 25 days annual leave plus public holidays rising by 1 day per year of service up to a maximum of 30 days
