Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion Faculty on a permanent, full-time basis (35 hours per week). Start date 1 December 2026. Salary range £22,732–£23,093 actual salary for Grade 3, Pt5-6.

The role involves classroom support, targeted interventions and fostering an inclusive environment. You will work with students with diverse needs, supporting learning across the curriculum and contributing to student progress, wellbeing and independence.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths are required.
• Experience of working with or caring for children is preferred.
• Ability to support learning across a range of subjects and adapt to student needs.
• Good standard of English, numeracy and IT skills are essential.
• Willingness to develop in SEMH/EAL or related areas is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective classroom support under teachers, SENCo and other staff.
• Deliver targeted interventions to help students progress.
• Help create an inclusive learning environment that supports academic, social and emotional development.
• Participate in enrichment activities, educational visits and intervention programmes.
