Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking a part-time Learning Support assistant to help students with complex needs, including neurodiversity. You will work within the Inclusion and Support team and may be required to cover across campuses.

Key duties include supporting in classrooms, developing and updating support documents, liaising with specialist tutors, and assisting with EHCP reviews to promote learner independence.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting students with learning needs, including neurodiversity.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
• Willingness to work across different college campuses for cover.

Responsibilities

• Provide Learning Support for students with complex needs, focusing on Neurodiversity.
• Support classroom activities under teacher direction and TLIP recommendations.
• Write, update and implement student support documents including exam access arrangements.
• Assess learners' needs and suggest strategies to support them.
• Support student development including transition visits, enrolment and induction.
• Help achieve learning aims by reviewing and updating support plans and targets.
• Assist in preparing learning resources and equipment setup.
• Attend EHCP reviews and liaise with external professionals.
