Job summary

GEM Partnership seeks a SEND & Inclusion Learning Support Trainer to provide tailored assistance to adult learners on pre-employment courses. The role focuses on learners with SEND, ESOL needs, low English/maths, or mental health barriers to enable engagement and progress.

You will deliver 1:1 and small group support, adapt materials, help with assessments, and support tutors with inclusion strategies across multiple training centres and employer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults or young people with SEND or extra learning needs.
• Strong communication, patience, and empathy.
• Ability to simplify tasks and provide clarity to learners with low confidence.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group learner support during classroom and practical sessions.
• Adapt, simplify, or scaffold learning materials under guidance from tutors.
• Support differentiation during lessons and help learners with tasks and assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of learner support and progress.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety policies and promote learner wellbeing.
