Job summary

WHC Group is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support learners with SEND across its campuses in Luton, Watford and Hemel Hempstead. The role involves one-to-one and small group interventions, collaboration with curriculum staff and promoting inclusive learning with assistive technologies.

You will work as part of a proactive SEND team, contributing to staff development and quality assurance in inclusive practice, with travel between campuses as required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with SEND and knowledge of SEND support strategies.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions and promoting learner independence.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, reflective and solutions-focused approach.
• A genuine commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to develop study skills, independence and confidence.
• Support learners with a range of SEND needs, including those with EHCPs.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt teaching approaches and learning materials.
• Promote inclusive learning strategies and the effective use of assistive technologies.
• Monitor learner progress, attendance and engagement, using data to inform interventions.
• Support transition processes, including school liaison, taster sessions and learner assessments.
• Provide specialist advice, guidance and training to staff to promote inclusive practice.
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement of SEND provision.
