Job summary

West Herts College is seeking Learning Support Assistants to back our SEND team across campuses in Luton, Watford and Hemel Hempstead. The roles cover full-time, part-time, term-time and hourly paid patterns, with applications encouraged for preferred campus and hours.

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, help learners access the curriculum, and assist with EHCP processes and SEND documentation. Training and development are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with a range of SEND needs, including those with EHCPs.
• Develop and implement tailored support strategies based on individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
• Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning activities and promote inclusive practice.
• Support the preparation and upkeep of SEND documentation, including EHCPs, exam access arrangements and support plans.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews and annual review processes, working with families and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support, progress and communication.
• Contribute to a consistent, high-quality and person-centred approach to learner support.
