Job summary

AMA Admin is seeking Inclusive Learning Pathway Support staff to work with partner SEND schools in Northumberland. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30–3:30, delivering a therapeutic and holistic curriculum tailored to children with autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex communication needs.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create a structured, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, understood, and empowered to thrive.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within SEND, Autism, SLCN, or complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to support non-verbal communication.
  • Ability to provide two recent references (work-based or educational).
  • Calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting emotional regulation and learning.
  • Genuine passion for inclusion, wellbeing, and child-centred education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils within the Inclusive Learning Pathway, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Support children with Autism, speech and language needs, and developmental delays to access learning.
  • Support pupils during sensory-based learning, therapeutic sessions, outdoor learning, and Forest School activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, SLT, and on-site therapists to ensure consistent, holistic support.
  • Contribute to pastoral care, helping pupils feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
