Job summary

Unsted Park School & Sixth Form in Godalming is seeking an outstanding English Teacher to join our committed, collaborative team. The role covers KS3–KS5 within a SEN setting, with opportunities to teach Functional Skills, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English.

You will plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons, adapt to a wide range of abilities, support phonics and literacy, and contribute to departmental development, safeguarding, and wider school life.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience teaching English at KS3 and above.
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons for KS3–KS5.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including SEN.
• Assess, record, and report student progress with meaningful feedback.
• Create a supportive, structured and engaging learning environment.
• Contribute to departmental development, staff meetings and CPD.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and external professionals.
• Uphold safeguarding practices and school ethos.
