Job summary

Unsted Park School & Sixth Form, part of Aspris Children’s Services, is seeking an outstanding English Teacher to join our committed teaching team. The role covers KS3-KS5 with core GCSE/A‑level English options and a strong emphasis on phonics and foundational literacy support.

You will plan, deliver high-quality lessons, assess progress, and differentiate for diverse learners, including those with SEN, while collaborating with staff and families to promote safeguarding and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• Experience teaching KS3 and above preferred.
• Ability to adapt for a wide range of abilities, including SEN.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the National Curriculum for KS3-KS5.
• Adapt teaching to support students working below age-related expectations.
• Demonstrate understanding of phonics, literacy intervention, and foundational learning.
• Assess, record, and report on student progress with meaningful feedback.
• Create a structured, engaging learning environment.
• Differentiate effectively to meet diverse learning needs, including SEN.
• Manage classroom behaviour positively and promote independence.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
• Contribute to departmental development and wider school life.
• Uphold safeguarding practices and contribute to school ethos.
