Job summary

Fernways School, part of Kedleston Group, is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to support young people with SEND in Windlesham. You will deliver high-quality English lessons, adapt to diverse needs, and help integrate EHCP targets, building literacy skills and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required.
  • Experience teaching English, ideally in SEND/ASD settings.
  • Strong understanding of dyslexia and inclusive teaching approaches.
  • Familiarity with GCSE, Functional Skills and Entry Level assessment frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, well-structured English lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Model best practices in English teaching and provide guidance to staff.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and parents to tailor teaching strategies.
  • Ensure the English curriculum aligns with EHCP targets and supports progression.
  • Lead the leadership and management of the subject area while reviewing curriculum using data.
