Job summary
The Sheffield College is seeking an experienced Learning Support role to provide high-quality, learner-centered support for students and to lead a small team of Learning Support Workers. You will work with Teaching, Learning and Assessment to review progress against EHCP outcomes and personal targets.
Key responsibilities include developing IILPs, supporting students with SEND, and delivering targeted interventions.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering learner-centered support for students, including those with SEN/SEND
- Ability to develop and implement inclusive teaching plans
- Experience working with EHCP outcomes and settings in FE/HE is desirable
Responsibilities
- Support the transition and onboarding of students with EHCP/SEN to enrol at The Sheffield College
- Lead a small team of Learning Support Workers in Teaching, Learning and Assessment
- Develop Individual Inclusive Teaching Plans (IILPs) and EHCPs; tailor support strategies
- Provide advanced classroom support for learners with SEND and learning needs
- Plan and deliver targeted interventions in small groups or 1:1 under teacher guidance
- Monitor learner progress and report to teaching staff and support teams
- Collaborate with teaching staff, curriculum teams and external professionals to promote inclusive practice
- Contribute to a safe, respectful learning environment and uphold college values
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FE frameworks, SEND, safeguarding procedures
