Job summary

The Romero Catholic Academy is seeking a dedicated teacher to lead the SEND Support Base, delivering high-quality, personalised teaching for students with diverse SEND needs. You will work to create a positive, trauma-informed environment and collaborate with families and external agencies to support every pupil’s potential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SEND Support Base and provide high-quality provision for students with additional needs.
• Create an inclusive, trauma-informed learning environment.
• Deliver engaging, adapted teaching across the curriculum for KS2.
• Support students toward Functional Skills qualifications and vocational pathways.
• Collaborate with SENCO, support staff, families and external agencies to ensure student success.
• Coach and direct support staff within the SEND Base, promoting best-practice in adaptive teaching.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a caring and ambitious school community where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, personalised teaching and support for students with a range of SEND needs, helping them develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to thrive academically and personally.

We would very much welcome applications from teachers who have worked in mainstream primary or within specialist settings.

You will:

• Lead the SEND Support Base and provide high-quality provision for students with a range of additional needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and trauma-informed learning environment.
• Deliver engaging and adapted teaching across the curriculum, including provision aligned to Key Stage 2 attainment levels.
• Support students working towards Functional Skills qualifications and vocational pathways.
• Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, families and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need to achieve their potential.
• Lead, coach and direct support staff within the SEND Support Base, promoting best practice in adaptive teaching and behaviour support.
