Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting for a SEND Support Assistant (TA3) at Colne Primet Academy, Colne. The role focuses on managing an inclusion room, supporting students with SEND and weak literacy/numeracy, and working with teachers to differentiate learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with planned inclusion programmes and supporting students with SEND.
• Ability to differentiate curriculum content to meet student needs.
• Ability to monitor progress and prepare reports on student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise inclusion room and maintain records of attendance, behaviour and interventions.
• Support designated students or groups with literacy/numeracy and SEND needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan, deliver and evaluate curriculum for students.
• Plan and implement intervention programmes (IDL, reading, maths support).
• Provide social and emotional support and run social communication activities.
• De-escalate and model co-regulation strategies to keep students ready to learn.
• Maintain targets and monitor student progress reporting needs and concerns.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff and families as appropriate.
• Produce accurate records and reports to inform inclusion provisions.
• Provide support for specific medical/care needs when trained.
