Job summary

Stockport Council is seeking a Senior Adviser for Inclusion and Standards to lead the strategic development of inclusive practice in schools and strengthen collaboration between schools and the Local Authority.

The post is permanent and part-time (29.6 hours) with a pro rata salary of £60,804 to £65,509, based at Stopford House with school visits. The role emphasizes safeguarding and improving outcomes for children with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience in education to work with primary schools.
• Ability to advise, influence and collaborate with school-based colleagues to improve SEND outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the strategic outcomes of the School Effectiveness Service Area by developing inclusive practice within schools and fostering positive, effective relationships between schools and LA services.
• Support the development of inclusive practice in the schools allocated to them.
• Line manage LA officers within the team who are working in the schools allocated to them.
• Use professional expertise to support, develop and maintain high-quality processes required by the LA.
• Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
