Job summary

St Michael in the Hamlet Primary School in Liverpool is seeking an Inclusion Manager to lead SEND and inclusion across the school. The post combines strategic leadership with a 0.4 teaching commitment and SENCO responsibilities, ensuring high-quality teaching and safeguarding across all year groups.

The successful candidate will work with families and external agencies to secure outstanding outcomes for pupils with SEND, while shaping inclusive practice and professional development for staff.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading SEND provision and inclusive practice.
• Proven SENCO leadership and delivery of statutory processes (EHCPs, Annual Reviews).
• Strong teaching pedagogy across primary phases and safeguarding knowledge.
• Ability to influence, collaborate with families and external partners.
• Committed to CPD and safeguarding with effective team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop SEND and inclusion provision, ensuring individual needs are identified and supported.
• Undertake SENCO duties, working with staff, families and external agencies to secure outcomes.
• Provide Key Stage/Phase Leadership to support high-quality teaching and learning.
• Contribute to safeguarding as a key member of the school's safeguarding team.
• Lead on EHCPs, SEND plans and statutory processes across the school.
• Collaborate with parents/carers and external professionals to support pupils.
• Support colleagues in inclusive classroom practice and strategies for diverse needs.
• Use data to identify barriers to learning and evaluate impact of provision.
• Contribute to school improvement and professional development of staff.
• Maintain a 0.4 teaching commitment to stay connected to classroom practice.
