Job summary

BCP Council is seeking an Inclusion Lead to enhance educational outcomes for children with SEND across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You will coordinate targeted support within school clusters, strengthening inclusive practice and building school capacity through collaboration with education services.

The role requires Qualified Teacher Status, leadership in inclusion, and experience working with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status.
• Significant experience working with children and families in schools and settings.
• Recent leadership experience in inclusion.
• Experience working with children with a wide range of individual needs.
• Proven ability to work effectively with adults to develop their practice.
• Relevant training related to inclusion and working with children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the single point of contact for a designated cluster of schools, developing strong relationships, and maintaining a clear understanding of individual school priorities and needs.
• Line managing and working in close partnership with the Cluster Coordinator to ensure support is planned, coordinated, and delivered effectively.
• Leading and delivering whole-school elements of the support menu, providing strategic guidance and capacity-building that promotes inclusive practice across schools.
• Identifying emerging needs, coordinating appropriate interventions, and ensuring that support is provided at the right time, in the right place, and by the right professionals.
• Facilitating communication between schools and specialist services, ensuring a seamless and responsive approach to support.
• Monitoring the impact of provision across the cluster and contributing to the continuous development of the Experts at Hand offer.
