Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking an Inclusion and Development Coordinator to support students across health, social care and childcare programs at Bedford Campus. You will coordinate learner support, wellbeing initiatives and safeguarding, while working with curriculum teams, parents and external partners to promote student success.

  • Promote wellbeing, safeguard and inclusion, coordinate referrals and support plans.

Role: Inclusion and Development Coordinator
Location:

Bedford Campus, Cauldwell Street

Salary/Benefits:

Salary is between £25,585 and £30,915 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays,People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks:

37hrs per week|40 weeks per year

Contract Type:

Term-time | permanent

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Inclusion and Development Coordinator to join our Health, Social Care & Childcare at The Bedford College Group.

As an Inclusion and Development Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Learner Support & Engagement - Coordinate targeted support for students, helping to address barriers to attendance, engagement and achievement through tailored interventions and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Wellbeing, Safeguarding & Inclusion - Support vulnerable learners, promote wellbeing and resilience, coordinate referrals and support plans, and ensure safeguarding, equality and inclusion are embedded in all aspects of learner support.
  • Collaboration & Student Advocacy - Work closely with curriculum teams, parents/carers, central services and external partners to provide effective support, advocate for learners, and encourage participation in student voice and enrichment activities.
  • Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance - Maintain accurate intervention records, monitor learner progress and support outcomes, produce reports on learner needs and trends, and contribute to audits and quality improvement activities.
  • Professional Development & College Contribution - Support college-wide events, participate in training and continuous professional development, uphold college values, and contribute to initiatives that enhance learner success, progression and personal development.
About you:
  • Qualifications & Student Support Experience - Educated to at least Level 3 with GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), alongside experience in student support, advice and guidance, mentoring, coaching, or learner development environments.
  • Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Inclusion Knowledge - Strong understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, confidentiality, and the ability to support vulnerable learners while promoting positive wellbeing and engagement.
  • Communication & Relationship Building - Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with the ability to provide guidance, motivate learners, engage stakeholders, and build effective professional partnerships.
  • Organisation, IT & Decision-Making Skills - Strong organisational, analytical, project management and IT skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, maintain accurate records, make informed decisions, and manage competing demands effectively.
  • Professionalism & Adaptability - Demonstrates resilience, discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous development, with the flexibility to work across campuses, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with young people.
