Job summary

Bedford College Group is seeking a Centre Administrator to join the Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support teams at Bedford College, Cauldwell Street. The role involves handling admin, customer service, examinations support, and student records using ProSolution.

You will support Heads of School and programme teams, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safeguarding and inclusion policies. Interviews scheduled for 19th October 2026.

Qualifications

  • Good general education including English at GCSE grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Relevant Level 2 IT, Maths/Numeracy and Business Administration qualifications.
  • Safeguarding, equality and diversity, and customer service training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and customer service support within the department.
  • Produce professional documents, arrange meetings and trips, process purchase requisitions.
  • Maintain accurate student information using College systems (e.g., ProSolution).
  • Assist Examinations and Student Data with exam registrations and certificate distribution.
  • Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and participate in required training.

Job description

Role: Centre Administrator

Location: Bedford College, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, Mk42 9AH

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,522 and £26,754 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 Hours / 52 Weeks

Contract Type: Permanent – Full

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Centre Administrator to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Centre Adminstrator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Administrative & Customer Support - Provide a professional administrative and customer service function for the department, acting as a first point of contact for telephone enquiries and visitors.
  • Business & Departmental Support - Support Heads of School, Programme Managers and wider teams by producing professional documents, arranging meetings and trips, processing purchase requisitions, proofreading and undertaking other administrative activities.
  • Systems & Student Records - Use College systems, including ProSolution, to maintain accurate and up-to-date student information and support the effective administration of departmental records.
  • Examinations & Operational Administration - Assist Examinations and Student Data with activities including exam registrations, learner progression, invigilation and certificate distribution, alongside managing post, stationery, forms and equipment.
  • Compliance & Professional Responsibilities - Promote and adhere to the Bedford College Group's requirements relating to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and proactively participate in required training and development.
About you:
  • Qualifications & Training - Good general education including English at GCSE grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), with relevant Level 2 IT, Maths/Numeracy and Business Administration qualifications, alongside safeguarding, equality and diversity, and customer service training.
  • Administrative & IT Experience - Experience of working effectively within busy office and customer-focused environments, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, computerised and manual systems, minute taking and accurate record keeping.
  • Communication & Organisation - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proofread accurately, produce professional documents and reports, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and provide accurate information to customers.
  • Teamwork & Professional Standards - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate consistently high performance and uphold organisational values, including teamwork, inclusivity, student focus, continuous improvement, openness, care and educational excellence.
  • Safeguarding, Flexibility & Personal Attributes - Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, with a flexible and reliable approach to work, willingness to continually develop skills, awareness of health and safety requirements, and availability to support events and work across different locations when required
