Responsibilities

• Source and coordinate high-quality industry placements for Health, Care and Early Years students, building relationships with employers and advisory boards.
• Support learners during placements, conduct observations and assessments, provide feedback, monitor attendance and progress.
• Ensure placement activity meets college policies and awarding body standards, maintaining records and documentation.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams, careers services, business development colleagues and internal verifiers to deliver placement programmes.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and participate in department and college initiatives.

About The Role

We are currently seeking an Early Years Assessor to join our Health, Social Care & Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.

• Industry Placements & Employer Engagement - Source and coordinate high-quality industry placements for Health, Care and Early Years students, building strong relationships with employers, stakeholders and advisory boards to enhance student opportunities.
• Student Support, Assessment & Progress Monitoring - Support learners throughout their placements, conduct observations and assessments, provide constructive feedback, monitor attendance and progress, and help students achieve awarding body requirements.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance - Ensure all placement activity meets college policies, awarding body standards, health and safety requirements, and quality assurance processes, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Partnership Working & Curriculum Support - Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, careers services, business development colleagues, employers and internal verifiers to deliver successful placement programmes and positive learner outcomes.
• Safeguarding, Inclusion & Professional Development - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, uphold student conduct standards, maintain professional knowledge through continuous development, and contribute to departmental and college-wide initiatives.
