Job summary

Watchfield Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our inclusion base team. This role supports pupils in their learning and development, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality classroom support, ensuring all pupils can access learning opportunities and achieve success.

Qualifications

  • Experience with or caring for children
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships
  • Teamwork and safeguarding understanding
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Knowledge of child development (desirable)
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities.
  • Provide individual and small-group support, including for pupils with additional needs.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with education, behaviour and personal care plans.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
  • Assist with educational visits, lunchtime supervision and other school activities as required.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality classroom support, ensuring all pupils can access learning opportunities and achieve success.

The Role

You will:

  • Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities.
