We are looking for an Inclusion and Engagement Specialist to support the delivery of LTE Group's equality, diversity, inclusion, belonging and colleague engagement priorities through specialist advice, insight, programme delivery and day-to-day coordination.

Reporting to the Head of People, you will have experience in equality, diversity and inclusion, colleague engagement, organisational development or HR, and coordinating projects, programmes, events and campaigns across multiple stakeholders.

This is a fixed term opportunity (18 months), working full-time (37 hours per week) with hybrid working, two days per week based on site at our Openshaw campus in Manchester.

Inclusion and Engagement Specialist Overview

The role will promote an inclusion-by-design approach, ensuring colleague-facing policies, processes, systems, communications, learning and decisions are designed inclusively from the outset. The postholder will support the development and use of EDI and engagement data frameworks, helping to translate insight into clear narratives, risks, recommendations and action plans for operational, Executive and governance audiences.

This is a delivery-focused specialist role. It will translate Group priorities into coordinated activity, maintain systems and governance to track progress, and act as a first point of contact for routine inclusion and engagement enquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and ongoing review of LTE Group’s Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy and associated action plans.
  • Provide practical guidance on inclusive practice, accessibility, relevant policies and processes.
  • Review people practices, communications and initiatives through an inclusion lens and support proportionate Equality Impact Assessments.
  • Coordinate colleague surveys, pulse checks, focus groups, forums and other listening activities, including schedules, invitations, materials, attendance and follow-up actions.
  • Gather and present colleague feedback and lived-experience insights to inform decision-making, service improvement and organisational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain an EDI and engagement data framework aligned to statutory requirements, sector benchmarks, internal reporting needs and agreed governance cycles.
  • Collate and analyse workforce representation, recruitment, progression, retention, absence, employee relations, learning participation, wellbeing, engagement and pay-related data to identify trends, disparities, risks and areas for action.
  • Coordinate and, where appropriate, design and facilitate workshops, awareness sessions, campaigns and events relating to inclusion, engagement and colleague experience.
  • Act as a first point of contact for routine inclusion and engagement enquiries, resolving matters where appropriate and referring specialist, employee relations or safeguarding issues to the relevant lead.
  • Provide balanced initial advice on routine or lower-risk inclusion matters, supporting fair decision-making and constructive resolution within the boundaries of the role.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualification or professional development in equality, diversity and inclusion, HR, organisational development, communications or a related discipline.
  • Experience in equality, diversity and inclusion, colleague engagement, organisational development, HR or internal communications.
  • Experience coordinating projects, programmes, events, campaigns or consultation activity across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience developing or maintaining workforce, EDI or engagement data frameworks and using insight to support action planning, assurance or governance reporting.
  • Experience supporting surveys, focus groups, staff networks or other listening and participation mechanisms.
  • Experience analysing quantitative and qualitative information and producing clear reports and recommendations for different audiences.
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, public sector equality duties and practical approaches to inclusive and accessible working.
  • Ability to translate complex data, legislation and guidance into practical advice, tools and accessible communications for managers and colleagues.
  • Understanding of ethical data handling, disclosure confidence and the use of workforce insight to support fair, inclusive and evidence-led decision-making.
  • Strong planning, administration and organisational skills, with the ability to manage calendars, records, actions and competing deadlines reliably.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and the production of accessible communications and resources.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, influence constructively and work sensitively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and confidence in handling personal, sensitive or confidential information.
  • A demonstrable commitment to equality, inclusion, dignity and respect.
