Job summary

MacGregor Industrial Supplies Ltd in the North of Scotland is seeking a detail‑oriented Goods in Operative to join our busy warehouse team. You will receive, inspect, and process inbound stock, ensuring accuracy and compliance with health and safety standards.

The role requires good numeracy and literacy, the ability to work at pace, and occasional forklift operation. You’ll help with stock rotation, data entry, and collaboration with dispatch to maintain smooth order fulfilment.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred, especially in goods-in.
• Attention to detail to ensure stock accuracy and quality control.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills for recording inventory.
• Understanding of data accuracy and warehouse systems.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries to match orders and supplier docs.
• Check for damages and quality issues to minimise defective goods.
• Record stock data accurately in the system.
• Label and allocate goods to storage locations efficiently.
• Communicate with warehouse and purchasing teams to prevent discrepancies.
• Operate forklifts and pallet trucks safely when required.
• Assist in stock rotation, replenishment, and secure storage.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse in line with regulations.
• Support periodic stock audits and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with dispatch to ensure accurate order fulfilment.
