Job summary

S Knights Recruitment is seeking an In-Work Progression Coach to support individuals entering employment via a job placement programme in West Yorkshire. The role focuses on ensuring job retention, overcoming early hurdles, and guiding participants toward long-term career progression across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale.

You will deliver ongoing 1-to-1 coaching, identify barriers, and collaborate with employers to secure positive outcomes while maintaining compliant

Qualifications

• Proven background in in-work coaching or employability support.
• Experience delivering Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) to job placement participants.
• Ability to identify barriers to employment and plan targeted interventions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with participants and employers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver continuous 1-to-1 in-work coaching and IAG to help participants adapt to their new workplace.
• Identify early personal, practical, or workplace barriers and implement targeted interventions to sustain employment.
• Work with participants to develop essential workplace skills and professional behaviours.
• Collaborate with employer partners and local stakeholders to resolve workplace challenges and secure positive outcomes.
• Conduct regular progress reviews and maintain accurate records of milestones and outcomes.

The Job

As an In-Work Progression Coach, you will provide person-centred coaching and practical guidance to individuals who have entered employment via our job placement programme. Your core focus is to ensure job retention, overcome early employment hurdles, and support participants toward long-term career progression across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver continuous 1-to-1 in-work coaching and Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) to help job placement programme participants adapt to their new workplace.
• Identify early personal, practical, or workplace barriers and put targeted interventions in place to maintain job retention and sustained employment.
• Work with participants to develop essential workplace skills, professional behaviours, and personal confidence.
• Collaborate with employer partners and local stakeholders across the job placement programme to resolve workplace challenges and secure positive outcomes.
• Conduct regular progress reviews and maintain accurate, compliant records of participant milestones and program outcomes.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and resilient individual who understands the practical and emotional challenges of starting or sustaining a new job following a placement.

Experience & Skills Required

• Proven background as an In-Work Support Officer, Employment Coach, Progress Coach, or Employability Adviser.
• Demonstrated track record of helping individuals sustain employment or navigate workplace challenges within a job placement programme.
• Strong understanding of barriers to employment within welfare-to-work, employability, or UK Government-funded programmes.
• Outstanding communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills with participants and employers.
• Excellent caseload management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
