Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Customer Assistant to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high shop standards in our Cambridge store. You will engage customers, apply product knowledge to drive sales and support day-to-day shop operations with a welcoming, can-do attitude.

You’ll work flexible hours across seven days, with shifts such as 05:50-15:10 or 08:50-18:10, contributing to a team that values service, quality, and a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• Basic IT literacy is required.
• Strong communication skills are essential for helping customers.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inspirational customer service across the customer journey.
• Use product knowledge to drive sales and support the Partnership’s profitability.
• Assist customers by answering queries and resolving issues with care and courtesy.
• Support shop operations such as till use, stock replenishment and general housekeeping as needed.
• Identify improvements and help implement solutions to enhance the in-store experience.
