In-House Residential Property Solicitor | Hertfordshire
We are looking for an ambitious Property lawyer to join an innovative and entrepreneurial business based in Hertfordshire.
You will be working closely with the Head of Legal, playing a key role in handling a diverse range of Residential Property matters.
The Business
This UK-based property developer specialises in high-quality residential and mixed-use developments, primarily in the South East of England. Established over 30 years ago, the company focuses on building sustainable, well-designed homes in desirable locations.
With a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and environmental responsibility, the business integrates modern architectural styles with practical living spaces.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will manage the non-contentious aspects of residential lease extensions and other property matters in-house, ensuring smooth and compliant operations. You will oversee voluntary and statutory residential lease extensions on behalf of the Group companies while also handling leasehold enfranchisement matters.
You will support the long leasehold property manager in preparing, reviewing, and completing deeds of variation related to long leases and freehold rent charges. The role also involves managing the disposal of retained landholdings, such as access roads and surplus parcels of land post-development. Effective communication with leaseholders, their solicitors, and other stakeholders is essential to facilitate seamless transactions and maintain positive relationships.
Additionally, you will ensure compliance with current and forthcoming legislation, including the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 and any subsequent legal changes. Maintaining accurate records and case management will be integral to the role, ensuring a well-organised approach to leasehold and property management. This opportunity offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on the Group's property portfolio while working within a dynamic legal and operational framework.
