Job summary

Clara Rose Consultancy Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Probate Officer/Executive to join an in-house probate team in the Ipswich area. This role focuses on quality and service delivery, with no billing targets and no time-recording pressures.

You will manage your own probate caseload, oversee Grants of Representation and the full estate administration process, and work closely with a supportive team to deliver meaningful outcomes for families during difficult times.

Qualifications

• Experience managing probate caseloads is essential.
• Understanding intestacy rules and complex family structures is important.
• Ability to handle estate administration, tax paperwork and compliance.
• Excellent communication, compassion, and attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own probate and intestacy caseload from instruction to completion.
• Apply for Grants of Representation and oversee full estate administration.
• Value estates, manage liabilities, collect assets and distribute accordingly.
• Prepare IHT forms and final accounts.
• Communicate with beneficiaries, clients, solicitors, genealogists, and institutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and management to improve processes and contribute to department growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing your own caseload of probate and intestacy matters from instruction to completion
• Applying for Grants of Representation and overseeing the full estate administration process
• Valuing estates, handling liabilities, collecting assets, and distributing accordingly
• Preparing IHT forms and final accounts
• Communicating with beneficiaries, clients, solicitors, genealogists and institutions
• Working closely with a team of experienced colleagues and senior management
• Helping improve processes and contribute to the wider growth of the department
