Job summary

[Unknown Bank] in Sheffield is seeking an In House Litigation Solicitor to support litigation, governance and contentious matters within a government-backed economic development institution. The role requires 4+ years PQE and experience handling disputes in a financial services context.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, advise on risk, escalate when needed and manage external advisers to ensure quality and cost efficiency. Hybrid working arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• 4+ years PQE or more
• Experience in litigation, disputes or contentious legal matters
• Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities
• Experience in governance, risk and escalation processes
• Familiarity with Freedom of Information matters and ICO / First Tier Tribunal matters

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on litigation, disputes and potential challenges across the organisation
• Advise on governance, escalation and risk management processes
• Provide advice on contentious matters within a financial services environment
• Work with senior stakeholders and business teams to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice
• Provide input to Product, Risk and Compliance, Policy, Strategy, Economics, Finance and Procurement teams
• Advise on FOI requests and related tribunals
• Support development of legal knowledge management, training and horizon scanning
• Standardise legal documentation, processes and internal know-how
• Manage external legal advisers and ensure value for money
