Job summary

March Recruitment is assisting a UK-based building services consultancy in finding a proactive Financial Controller to bring the finance function in-house and own day-to-day financial operations.

You will work closely with Directors and external accountants to manage bookkeeping, management accounts, cash flow, payroll, VAT and reporting, ensuring accurate records and strong financial processes to enable growth.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience in UK SME finance
• Experience preparing management accounts and cash flow forecasts
• Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE and payroll processes

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage Xero ledgers, bank reconciliations and supplier payments
• Oversee invoicing, aged debt and credit control
• Administer payroll, PAYE and pensions
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns under Making Tax Digital
• Support year-end accounts and external accountants
• Maintain robust financial controls and records
