In House Legal Advisor - (Employee Relations)

Salary: Up to £60k

We have created a new role of in-house Employee Relations Specialist to:

  • Develop an in-house employment law centre of excellence by providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters.
  • Represent the company's interests in legal proceedings related to employment issues to minimize risk and cost.
  • Enhance HR Business Partner and Management capabilities regarding positive employee relations and avoiding formal legal processes.
  • Address employment law matters swiftly and efficiently, from contractual issues and policy development to tribunal claim management.

The Senior Legal Adviser will be the employment law SME and trusted advisor across Lifeways, building credible relationships and shaping policies. You will be a strategic partner, driving improvements and providing solutions to mitigate risks and promote learning.

What you can bring to Lifeways:
  • Law Degree (LLB) or equivalent experience managing employee relations caseloads.
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation, regulations, case law, and proven experience applying legal principles in business contexts.
  • Proven track record of resolving complex employment cases and workplace conflicts positively.
  • Understanding of TUPE regulations for transfers (in and out).
  • Knowledge of ACAS conciliation, judicial mediation, and end-to-end employment tribunal processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work at Senior Leadership level with multiple stakeholder groups.
