Job summary

AWD online is seeking Care Assistant / Support Worker in the Crawley area to provide in-home care and support to service users, helping them stay safe and independent in the community.

Roles include personal care, companionship, meal preparation and light household tasks, with safeguarding and medication handling experience desirable. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential; weekend/evening work may be required.

• Previous experience in domiciliary care
• Medication handling experience

• Manual handling experience
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Good comprehension of the English language
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Empathy, compassion and sensitivity in care
• Teamwork and ability to work on your own initiative
• Flexible, reliable and punctual

Responsibilities

• Provide personal support to service users in their own homes
• Help service users remain safe, comfortable and independent
• Offer companionship and social interaction during visits
• Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks as per care plan
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and company procedures
• Support medication handling as required by care plans
• Notice and report changes in service users' condition or behaviour
• Maintain accurate visit notes and report safeguarding matters
• Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety guidelines
• Communicate warmly with service users, families and colleagues
• Travel between visits within agreed area
