Job summary

Five Education Recruitment Limited is seeking a caring In Class Support Assistant to assist pupils in Martock, with a focus on autism. You will support learning activities, encourage independence, and work with teachers and the support team within the classroom.

The role requires patience and the ability to adapt to individual needs and structured routines, with safeguarding at the forefront. Prior school or SEND experience is preferred, and a DBS check is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism or SEND is desirable.
• Must be calm, patient and nurturing with structured routines.
• Safeguarding awareness and child welfare understanding is important.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism 1:1 or in small groups.
• Help pupils engage with learning activities and daily routines.
• Encourage communication, independence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff.
