As a market leader in general merchandise, serving millions of customers through our website, app, same-day delivery and Click & Collect services, we offer real opportunities to learn, grow and shape your career. With roles spanning Commercial, Buying, Merchandising, Design and Supply Chain, through to Digital, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, and People and Transformation , you will work with brilliant colleagues and directly shape how we serve our customers every day. From enabling inspiring choice across our owned brands, including Habitat, Chad Valley and Bush, alongside the world’s biggest brands like Apple, Lego, Xbox and Samsung, to making shopping effortlessly convenient, championing trusted value and accelerating our strategy - Argos is an exciting place to build your future.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Improvement & Training Lead to join our Operational Excellence & Improvement team within Argos Commercial & Digital.

In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping how transformational change is embedded across our business, helping colleagues adopt new ways of working through engaging training, communications and change management activity. Working across a range of projects and initiatives, you'll support the successful delivery of business improvements that enhance both colleague and customer experiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about continuous improvement, business change and colleague engagement. You'll work with stakeholders across Commercial & Digital, Tech and wider business functions, using creativity, collaboration and innovation to drive meaningful change at pace.

What You’ll Do

You'll work closely with project teams, process owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements, map processes and develop effective training, communication and engagement solutions that support change adoption.

You'll create and deliver training materials, communications and change management plans, ensuring colleagues are informed, engaged and equipped to embrace new ways of working. You'll coordinate training events and engagement activities, gather feedback from end users and continuously improve content and delivery approaches to maximise impact.

Alongside this, you'll facilitate workshops, support improvement initiatives and projects, and provide guidance to stakeholders on effective communication, training and change management practices. You'll also look for innovative ways to engage colleagues, leveraging new tools and techniques to enhance learning and adoption across the business.

Who You Are

You're a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys helping people navigate change. You combine strong communication and facilitation skills with a passion for continuous improvement, enabling you to create engaging learning experiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.

You enjoy collaborating across teams, building relationships and bringing people on the journey. You're organised, solutions-focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality outputs.

You're naturally curious and always looking for better ways of doing things, with a genuine interest in driving positive change and improving colleague experiences.

Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in a training, change management or communications role, with experience supporting colleagues through new ways of working.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging communications, training materials and user guidance.
  • Experience developing and delivering training, engagement or communication content for a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of creative tools, media and technology used to support training and communications activity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence across a diverse range of teams.
  • Strong facilitation and workshop delivery skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality colleague experiences.
  • Able to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, change management and colleague engagement.

Whilst not essential, experience working within Retail, Commercial or Digital functions, knowledge of project or change management methodologies, and experience working with third-party or offshore teams would be advantageous.

We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new — whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business - and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits.
