Job summary

A&S Recruitment client in Felixstowe is recruiting an Import Forwarding Clerk to join the busy Import Department. You will manage import shipments from arrival through to final delivery, ensure customs compliance and deliver excellent customer service throughout the process.

Reporting to the Import Supervisor, you will handle duties such as processing shipments in CargoWise, completing customs entries via CDS, arranging deliveries, and managing bills of lading, duty and VAT administration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' customs clearance/import forwarding experience.
• Good understanding of customs procedures and bills of lading.
• Knowledge of CargoWise and CDS advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Processing import shipments and maintaining accurate job files using CargoWise.
• Completing customs entries via CDS and ensuring timely customs clearance.
• Arranging deliveries and liaising with shipping lines, hauliers and customers.
• Managing bills of lading, releases and arrival notices.
• Handling duty, VAT and deferment account administration.
• Completing IPAFFS, GMR and other regulatory documentation.
• Monitoring shipment progress and resolving operational issues.
