The Role
In this varied role you will be a part of the Operations Team with a focus on Supply Chain, reporting to the Import Team Leader. You will be responsible for managing the import of products from suppliers across the globe into the UK.
Your main duties will include:
·Building strong relationships with global suppliers to ensure a smooth process of shipment and documentation
·Tracking the shipment of products closely from point to point and promptly handling any problems that may arise
·Checking all shipping documentation is compliant and filed in an accurate and timely manner
·Maintaining compliance with company policies and government regulations when preparing and submitting CHED P’s IUU
Notifications and certificates of inspection·Dispatching necessary documentation to port authorities and shipping lines
·Keeping up to date on commodity codes, preferential duty rates, import VAT, rules of origin and import custom procedures
·Maintaining relevant tracker and spreadsheets
·Arranging the transportation of containers from ports to ensure there are no stock shortages or cost implications
·Working closely with freight forwarders, third party warehouses and port authorities as well as internal stakeholders to provide the best service to customers
·Support other team members to support with sales ordering and stock management when needed.
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual looking to grow and evolve within the world of supply chain. It is essential you are a team player, with strong communication skills to liaise with people in and out of the business. Previous knowledge of customs clearance and importing food products would be great.
Taking a pro-active and engaged approach is a must in order to thrive. An excellent eye for detail is necessary to handle the complexities of supply chain and importing where you will be managing global shipment consignments.
This is a site based role so candidates must be able to commute to Surrey or plan to relocate to the local area. The role is commutable from Sussex and South London.
